oh baby!

Babies have a bad habit of growing out of things much too quickly. Coming up with something unique to bring to a baby shower, that baby wouldn't grown out of in a few weeks, was what I had in mind when I designed this 'Baby Steps' switch plate.

You know there's going to be plenty of diapers, burp cloths, and cute clothing to go around, so why not bring something different?

It can be made in any colour you request. If you don't know what size or style of switch plates the babies room has, do some detective work...call dad or grandma to find out.

Just make sure you order in plenty of time to allow me to make your custom switch plate and have it shipped to you in time for the shower.

double duty

Our house is small, and that's fine with me, I actually prefer it. Life in a a small house is made much easier when your furniture pulls double duty, so I'm always on the lookout for things that fit the bill.

Our plan for the kitchen is to make an eating nook with a twist. It'll  work as a dining area as well as a relaxing watch Tee Vee area. The 'bench' ideally will look and function more like a comfortable couch, than a traditional eating nook. The table will have to work as both a dining table and a coffee table.

I 'stumbled' on this website this morning and had one of those, yes, yes, that's exactly what I'm talking about moments. I love those moments.

the current "it" bag

No, it's not what's its' name...not that one either. It's the reusable grocery bag. They're everywhere, and that's good for you, me and the planet.

The ones I have now are, well you know, kind of ugly. They were free with points I had on my grocery card, so of course I use them.

Way back when, I had a purse that I just loved. It was made of cording that was woven and I could fit anything in there. I used to take it to the beach, to sleepovers, shopping. It was my everything and everywhere bag.

When I spotted these reusable grocery bags they reminded me of that go everywhere purse I had.

They're made of cotton mesh, so they're sturdy. Even better, is that they don't scream "green". They come in lots of fun colors and because they look so much better than the standard reusable bags you get at the grocery store, my Cozy Homewares bags will have many more fun outings than those other bags.

I bought myself one of these today. My electric fry pan is ready for the garbage, so...

Something that always stopped me from buying something similar was that the cooking surface couldn't be removed...a hassle for cleanup. This one comes with 2 sets of plates that are removable for washing up.

I love how versatile it is. You can open it up and use it a flat grill or griddle. I can't wait to try it as a panini press. Tonight I'm going to use it as a contact grill to cook both sides of my salmon at the same time. I'm actually looking forward to cooking dinner tonight.
