cool whites
I love the everydayness of this set...so pretty and cute.
Glazed in a flowing white glaze with a hint of blue, the teapot is made with 1/2 porcelain and 1/2 stoneware clay. A woven cane handle tops the whole thing off perfectly.

macon mutts and cute creatures
There they were staring at me with those huge eyes from my computer screen...cutest things I'd ever seen.
This menagerie of cuties can be found at Fluffy Flowers on Etsy. There's Macon Mutts, Owls, Bunnies just waiting to be adopted.
What's makes them even more special is that these little guys are doing their part to help mother earth. They're borne of recyled items like mitten, gloves, scarves, socks and sweaters.

warm, wonderful browns

clam chowder
I'm not sure why, but I haven't had clam chowder in a long, long time. Here's a GI friendly version sent to me by DesignedbyRJ, a shop owner on Etsy. I'm definitely going to be eating clam chowder again!
Here's a taste of what's in her lovely shop
Clam Chowder
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
4 green onions, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1/3 fennel (anise) bulb, chopped
2 carrots, chopped
1/4 c. whole wheat flour
3 c. vegetable stock
4 white new mini potatoes, skins on, quartered
4 red new mini potatoes, skins on, quartered
1/2 tsp dried oregano
4 bay leaves
1/2 lb haddock fillet, cut into chunks
1/2 lb shrimp/scallop mix
1 can baby clams, drained
1 c. skim milk
1 c. corn niblets
1/4 c. fresh parsley or cilantro
fresh Parmesan, grated, to taste
low-fat sour cream, to taste
Directions:
1. In a large soup pot, heat oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and cook until softened. Add fennel and carrots, cook for aprox. 2 minutes. Stir in flour, continue stirring for 1 minute. Add stock, potatoes, oregano, and bay leaves and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered for 15 minutes, or until potato is tender.
2. Add fish and sefood. Cook for 3 minutes of until opaque. Stir in milk and corn, heat thoroughly. Stir in parsley and Parmesan. Serve with a dollop of sour cream and enjoy!
Makes aprox. 6-8 servings. Keeps well in the fridge for a few days.

on the edge of an old boardwalk

There are a few sellers on Etsy that I visit regularly to see what they have been up to. One of those shops is Stoopidgerl on Etsy. This shop features resin accessories and photography taken by Stoopidgerl herself, Kim.
Looking at Kim's shop I imagine the edge of an old boardwalk, bustling in the summer but eerily vacant in the winter. A place where everything smiles and beams with color even when no one is there to notice.
I purchased Kim's resin necklaces for my daughter Ruby and as gifts for Ruby's friends. They are still a big hit and part of her everyday wardrobe. There are lots of resin pendants on Etsy, but Kim really has a cohesive vision that runs through her shop and product line. Kim is kind and easy to work with, with a shop that is updated regularly. If you need a colorful unique gift or custom item, definitely stop by stoopidgerl.
wash your mouth out with soap
Why would you purposely wash your mouth out with soap on a daily basis?
The answer is easy once you've tried 'Tooth Chips' from Rose of Sharon Acres. The difference between using these little curly ques, made of ingredients you can pronounce, and off the shelf toothpaste is quite astonishing. I'm trying to get my DH to give a whirl, but he's not convinced yet. I'm convinced and will continue to wash my mouth out with soap

mosaigami
Not only is the pendant new, the word is actually new...made up. 
This pendant is a hybrid of gami (paper in Japanese) and mosaic. I've taken chiyoyami paper and used a technique and finish in such a way as to make it look like tiny glass mosaic tiles.
Because each one is unique, they're a lot of fun to make!
